After presenting on this subject to the Defense Industry Initiative (DII) earlier this year I came away with the feeling of concern that with the familiarity and use of social media that the concept of confidentiality and traditional "open door" discussions are likely threatened. While an extreme example, and I realize the Australian girls were young (10 and 12), these girls trapped by a storm saw their rescue take hours instead of minutes because they updated their Facebook status rather than using their web-enabled phones to simply call 911.
