We’re a law firm, so you probably expect a bunch of legalese here. Well, we’re not that kind of law firm. Our goal is to make things as clear as possible rather than write a bunch of words that only lawyers and judges understand.
Vellum’s Privacy Principles:
1. We believe in the Golden Rule. We wouldn’t do anything to you that we wouldn’t do to ourselves. We care deeply about your privacy.
2. We hate spam just as much as you do
3. You’re in control
4. Your data is your data
Let’s break these principles down.
Spam
We don’t sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. The only exception is when the law requires us to do so.
We’ll get your permission before we use your email or address to send you Vellum’s newsletters or marketing materials.
Control
You can update your account information and preferences whenever you want to.
Vellum only accesses your information with your permission, when it it’s required by law, or if we need to access it to maintain our system.
Data
Vellum only uses third party vendors that meet the highest quality of security and backups.
If you choose to terminate your relationship with us, you get all of your data back. We only maintain copies that the law requires us to keep.
Vellum will protect personal information by reasonable security safeguards against loss or theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.
Vellum sends a tracking cookie to your computer that contains a unique identifying number. Vellum uses this number to provide you with a continuous experience and to record how our service is being used.
Changes
As Vellum grows, our privacy policy will grow with us. We reserve the right to make changes as needed. If we make a significant change to our policy that alters our basic principles, we’ll let you know.
